KATHRYN BITTNER GOULD

I graduated from College of Idaho in 1969, majoring in Sociology.  From there I married and moved to New York City where I worked as a Social Worker for an agency for disabled children for 4 years until my first child, Chris, was born.  I enjoyed my time as a stay–at- home mom for 13 years, during which time we moved to Federal Way, Washington and had three more children, Elizabeth, Mark and Emily; eventually that marriage ended.
I married my husband of almost 30 years, Rich Gould, a physician, who brought  three children into our marriage…along with my four, that made for a very busy household!  I earned my masters in Social Work (MSW) from University of Washington in 1989 and worked for 24 years as a School Social Worker/Counselor and on the Crisis Intervention Team for Tacoma Public Schools.  At the same time, I enjoyed raising our children on the beautiful beach at Dash Point on Puget Sound, where we still live.
I retired three years ago, and spent much of the first two years helping my Dad who died last year, just shy of 96.  Although Rich is still working, we have done some traveling, both here and abroad, and spent lots of enjoyable family time with our 17 sweet grandchildren.  In my spare time I sing with the Federal Way Chorale, which I have done for many years, love baking, reading with my book group, and have been active in our church through music, committee work and leadership over time.  I’m grateful for good health and loving friends and family!
