College:  BS, Business Ed/English, U of Idaho/Louisiana College; MA, Curriculum & Instruction, BSU
Marriage:  John Aldape (Boise HS ’63), October 1968
Children:  Son Johnny Aldape and Daughter Jill Aldape—both Boise HS & UI graduates.  Johnny married Jenny Enright (parents to our three grandchildren).  Jill married Xanti Alcelay.  Lucky us—they all live in Boise!
Other than accompanying John on Air Force tours (Philippines & Louisiana), we’ve lived in the Boise area since 1972.  A teacher for 28 years, I taught Business at Boise HS for 26 years.  Husband John was also a teacher-coach (Longfellow 5th-6th grades) until he “inherited” a business in 1994.  He took over management/ownership of a family grocery store in Laughlin, Nevada.  Aldape’s Market Place is a 24-hour full-service store with 15 slot machines.  In 2000, I joined him in the business.  Currently we commute to Laughlin 2-3 times each month.  So, we are not yet retired but have done some traveling.  We make frequent trips to Gleneden Beach on the Oregon Coast (where I collect and polish rocks).  We’ve enjoyed Mexican beaches and a few European trips (most often to the Basque Country).  No longer do I ski nor do we take Gold Wing trips (just ride occasionally on back of the Harley).  I like watching any football game, pro tennis, and March Madness.  I play some racquetball, and I like mus (Basque card game) and bridge.  The grandkids—1st grader Josephine and 4-year old twins Johnny & Jimmy—are great fun.  Life is good!
