Hard to believe it’s been fifty years since we graduated! For the most part, they’ve been very good years. I think our class is lucky to have grown up during the decades of great social change and the best music. One of my favorite sayings is: Life is Good!

Forty-two years ago, I married Gerry Armstrong, a talented architect and great guy. Since he is four years older, I like to think of myself as his ‘trophy wife’. We have three adult ‘boys’, two who live in Boise and one in San Jose, and a darling seven-year-old grandson. Except for a very few years, I’ve been in Boise since college at the U of I and feel so lucky to live in such a perfect place. We feel so fortunate to live on a lake next to the Boise River where we enjoy the scenery and wildlife every day. Our hobby for many years, was collecting cool cars, restoring when needed, enjoying and then selling them and going to car shows and auctions. I also so appreciate the wonderful friends who still live here in Boise.

Gerry and I are enjoying retirement and often wonder how we found time to work so hard for so many years. After fifteen+ years as a legal secretary, I spent 20 years at Armstrong Architects doing commercial interior/exterior design and some marketing for Gerry’s firm. We are proud of the many churches, office buildings and schools we completed in Idaho. The Boise School District was one of our largest clients and selecting the paint colors and designs for the old and new Borah Gymnasiums (huge walls!), library and additions were challenging projects.

My passion in life is for animals, especially dogs and cats. The joy and companionship that pets provide, especially in retirement, can’t be equaled and I often wonder how people can be without a pet (or four)! I served on the Idaho Humane Society Board for twelve years and helped direct its largest fundraising event, See Spot Walk, for many years. Gerry and I are currently serving on the IHS Building Committee toward the completion of a new shelter in 2017. We currently have three adopted senior dogs and one cat who make us smile every day. Yes, Life IS Good! I hope to see you at the reunion.
