After graduation I attended the College of Idaho where I met Ken Powers. We married and moved to the San Francisco Bay Area where we raised our two sons Luke and Adam. I retired from teaching private flute students in 2000.
Since retiring Ken and I have backpacked the Pacific Crest Trail, Continental Divide Trail and Appalachian Trail. We were the first to thru hike the coast-to-coast the American Discovery Trail. The most challenging trek for us was the Idaho Centennial Trail. Our hiking journeys have led us through 32 states and in excess of 20,000 hiking miles. We are fortunate to be able to continue our avocation!
We were honored to be inducted into the California Outdoors Hall of Fame in 2010.
