After Borah, attended Bose State for Civil Engineering, then U of I for Mechanical Engineering and an MBA.  First job for General Electric Company took me to New York City (almost the same as Moscow!).  Next twelve years found me managing GE operations from Alaska to Miami and everywhere in between.  Last stop with GE was Portland, Oregon, from where I still traveled extensively, attended  law school at night, got married, started a family and built a house.

Finished law school and started a new career as a lawyer with a firm in Portland. In 1987, moved North to open a Seattle office for the firm, took up residence on Mercer Island, Washington and have been here ever since.
Raised both our daughters here, served on the City Council for 10 years and Mayor for 3 terms.

Became Chairman of the law firm, now about 400 attorneys with offices from coast to coast (including one in Boise!).

Still maintaining an active practice - with emphasis on developing renewable energy projects (wind and solar) around the world.  Regular business trips to China, South Africa, South America, Europe and elsewhere keep me busy.

Am enjoying life with my wife of 35 years, Linda Todd and our two grandchildren (Leo 4 and Lucy 2) who live 5 minutes from us. In addition to travel adventures,  we like to spend “getaway” time at our house in Cannon Beach, Oregon.
