I met Jordan Smith while attending the University of Idaho and we were married after graduation in 1969. We moved to Washington D.C. for three years before moving back to Moscow where I taught home economics and Jordan attended law school. In 1976 we settled in Salmon, Jordan's hometown, and started our family. Three little girls and a small-town law practice kept us active in our community. During this time I served in a variety of positions, including Salmon City councilwoman, founder and director of Lemhi's Promise, an after-school program for children, and teacher for the local G.E.D. program. Avid travelers, we have seen much of the world as a family. even more now that Jordan has retired. We can go anywhere with a backpack! The Balkans and Nicaragua have been our favorites.
Fifty years later, our class has scattered around the world, but we share common memories of growing up in Boise and attending Borah High. We all know that we grew up at a special time in a special place.
