I retired in 2013 from the Idaho Commission on the Arts where I worked for 20 years as Artist Services Director. It was hard to leave because I so enjoyed helping artists who work in film, public art, visual arts, and performing arts to get exhibitions, grants, learn how to market their work, and just be there to offer words of encouragement to a group that is so committed to what they do. I was also able to travel the United States as well as accompany the Governor on a trade mission to Mexico in 1999. Before the Commission, I worked at Boise State University in various jobs as I earned my BA with an arts history minor. I have two sons, Michael Garrett who recently retired from the Air Force as a Chief Master Sergeant and Jason Garrett who works for Dairy Gold in their organic milk section. After my divorce I took back my birth name and I have been with my partner Frank Nicholson for about 12 years. I still have excellent health so I’m looking forward to more travel, gardening, hobbies, walking, and learning to play tennis.
