After graduating from high school I attended Boise State College for a year and then transferred to Idaho State University. Graduated in Sociology in 1969 and obtained my master’s degree from Utah State University in 1974. Worked for the Idaho Division of Vocational Rehabilitation from 1971 to 1978 – moved to Alaska. Worked and played in Alaska – did a lot of skiing, backpacking, and got involved in soccer. I met my husband Harry and a couple of kids arrived on the scene. We left Alaska in 1999 and moved to Michigan to return to school. I obtained my PhD in Rehabilitation Counseling from Michigan State University in 2003. Moved back to the Northwest as we missed the mountains and water. I currently work for the University of Washington as Director of the Center for Continuing Education in Rehabilitation and also do some teaching in the graduate program. We have two children who live near us in Edmonds, WA and two grandchildren. Life is good and I hope to continue working as long as I can – like Betty White.
