After graduation, I attended Boise State College (as it was known then) for a year-and-a-half.  Academics and I didn’t seem to fit, so I chose to head out into the world.

I have started three successful businesses; the first was Alexander’s Pipe & Tobacco Shop on Fairview in Boise across from Channel 7 studios.  This was a most excellent  store where I met some great people – it was a place where you could always stop by and turn off the world if needed.

Second was an On-forwarding delivery service for Airborne Express.  Back in the day, airfreight was mostly overnight letters and correspondence.  I serviced Lewiston, Idaho to the Canadian border.

Third was a property management company which I still operate.  I care for 35 seasonal homes around Hayden Lake.  Lear jets start arriving April 1st and most leave Labor Day weekend.  During that time period I provide whatever service they require to make their summer enjoyable and trouble free.

I met my wife Jan, from Caldwell, Idaho, and we married in 1972; that’s 42 years together.  We have a son who lives near us in Hayden, and a daughter in Priest River, Idaho;  between the two of them, we have two grandsons and a granddaughter.  Four years ago we added a great-grandaughter.

Jan and I take weekend trips throughout the summer months; we enjoy Indian PowWows, Pendleton’s Round-Up, and attending Amish Fund Raiser auctions.

We live on a “mini” farm  outside beautiful Hayden, ID.  We enjoy wildlife at our pond, and we raise our own organic beef.  As you may have seen from my Facebook posts, we always have new visitors to the 5 acre wood.
